The mission of Hidden Valley 4-H Camp is to provide youth with a fun, residential camp experience under the guidance of positive role models that emphasize community building, positive social interactions, environmental awareness and skill building.
Are you interested in helping to serve that mission? If YES, you should apply to become either summer paid staff or volunteer at camp! As summer paid staff, we have several positions available at Hidden Valley 4-H Camp. Many campers graduate to Junior Counselors at 16. Even more staff come on board as Senior Counselors at 18.
Working at Hidden Valley 4-H Camp for the summer is a great opportunity for college students interested in educational and youth fields (teaching, psychology, social work, outdoor recreation) to gain work experience. It is also a good opportunity for retirees and teachers to stay active and contribute your wisdom to moldable minds.
While our number one criteria is a willingness to work with youth and our number two requirement is an abundance of positive energy, the Department of Health requires that we have specific certifications in Lifeguarding, Progressive Swimming Instructor, Lifeguard Management, mid-level First Aid (Wilderness First Aid or Responding to Emergencies are common courses), and CPR.
Interviews will begin in mid-April.
